  • 32 hours. SUMMARY
  • Counselor supports campers and staff members under the supervision of the Camp Director and Camp Leadership Team.
This position is designed for youth ages 16-17 who are interested in developing leadership, communication, teamwork, and childcare skills within a structured camp environment. Junior Counselors serve as positive role models for younger campers while assisting with daily camp activities, camper supervision, and program support. Applicants must have attended Camp Jack for at least one prior season. A Type 1 diabetes diagnosis is preferred but not required; however, priority consideration will be given to applicants living with
T1D. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
: Attend mandatory orientation sessions, diabetes training, and educational programming as required Act as a role model for program participants Assist with implementation of scheduled camp activities Assist camp staff with daily camper support responsibilities, including snack distribution and helping campers retrieve lunches from designated refrigerated areas when assigned Maintain a safe, clean, and organized camp environment by completing daily rotating tasks, such as trash removal and sanitizing eating and activity areas Monitor and restock water stations Assist with end-of-day cabin cleanup procedures Enforce program safety rules and maintain a safe and clean environment Report all concerns to the Camp Director or Camp Jack Leadership Camp Jack Camp Counselor
  • Position Description Page 2 of 2 Participate in all program staff meetings and all required training sessions, including Agency and in-service training sessions, as scheduled Maintain all program and Agency required trainings Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
