Job Description
Assistant Match Director:
Maryland's premiere Gun Range and Training Facility, GUNTRY, is looking to add an energetic, detail-oriented member to support our competition program as an Assistant Match Director. The perfect candidate will assist in the planning, organization, and execution of firearm competitions while ensuring a safe, professional, and engaging environment for all participants. This role supports the Match Director in delivering high-quality events and maintaining operational excellence. The Assistant Match Director will help coordinate match logistics, assist with competitor check-in and registration accuracy, verify payments and waivers, and ensure all participants are properly entered into the system prior to the start of each match. This role also supports stage setup, teardown, and overall match flow throughout the event. On match days, responsibilities include assisting with safety briefings, monitoring shooter flow, supporting Range Officers, addressing competitor questions, and helping resolve minor issues to keep the event running efficiently. The Assistant Match Director will also help review scoring, ensure consistency across stages, and assist in publishing results. On non-match days, this position will also support operations at the Firearm Sales Desk. Responsibilities include assisting customers with purchases and transfers, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately, maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, and delivering a high level of customer service throughout the sales process. This position plays a key role in maintaining organization, improving the shooter experience, and supporting the growth of GUNTRY competitions. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service, the ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work as part of a team are essential traits we are looking for. Candidates should be familiar with common match platforms and formats such as USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, 3-Gun, and similar competition structures. A proficient understanding of firearms and firearm safety is required. Applicants must be 21 or older to apply.Pay:
