Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant team as an Activity Coordinator and become a vital part of enriching the lives of participants in a compassionate, community-focused environment. In this role, you will design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Your energetic approach will foster social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being, creating a lively atmosphere where residents feel valued and connected. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through dynamic programming and heartfelt caregiving. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and physical health for residents. Collaborate with care teams to develop personalized activity plans that meet individual preferences and care requirements. Prepare activity materials and help set up and clean up activity area and equipment before and after sessions. Assist residents with daily activities (Activities of Daily Living - ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and toileting, grooming during events to encourage independence. Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely delivery of programs while accommodating residents' routines and special needs. Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities, memory care needs, or other health challenges related to aging issues. Maintain accurate documentation of participation, resident feedback and survey, and activity outcomes for quality assurance and regulatory compliance. Develop marketing materials, such as monthly activity calendars, brochures, newsletters, blogs, and social media content. Support families by providing updates on residents' engagement levels and offering counseling on aging issues when appropriate. Monitor clients throughout the day to ensure their safety and comfort, promptly reporting any concerns to staff. Maintain records of attendance, participation, and progress of participants. Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulations related to client care, confidentiality, and workplace safety. Other duties as assigned by the Employer. Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience in activities coordination or therapeutic recreation for: The aged; Individuals with disabilities; or Other special populations is preferred. Proven experience in activities, event planning etc within Adult Medical Daycare programs or assisted living facilities. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and recreational therapy techniques. Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members. Ability to assist residents with ADLs compassionately while encouraging independence. Strong organizational skills for time keeping, schedule management and activity coordination. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in specialized memory care programs is preferred. A genuine passion for enhancing quality of life through engaging activities combined with patience and empathy. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in developing and conducting activities for the population to be served OR an Associate's degree in a related field plus two years of appropriate experience OR a National Certification as an activity or therapeutic recreational professional plus two years of appropriate experience OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus three years in developing and conducting activities Join us in creating joyful moments that brighten our residents' days! Pay:
