Job Description

Our Goal :
To provide campers with a safe and enjoyable environment where they can grow emotionally, socially, and physically through developmentally appropriate experiences. The program recognizes children as unique individuals who deserve the right to be treated equally with fair and consistent limits. Campers are provided with hands-on activities that enhance motor development, promote independence, and foster a positive self-image.
Qualifications Needed:
General Understanding of goals and objectives of day camp Ability to work with children to grow in character, experiences, and insights Knowledge of day camp programs and planning Winning way with campers Guard the health and well-being of campers at all times Specific At least 17 years of age Experience in working with children Ability to work in the outdoors comfortably Enthusiastic and dependable
Responsibilities:
Responsible for a group of children during the entire day, including lunch. Responsible for special projects, performing duties or assignments given by the Director or Assistant Director. Responsible for planning activities for groups of children and quiet activities after lunch. Required to attend the Camp Staff Orientation. Responsible for giving input on weekly activity ideas at staff meetings. Responsible for reporting and documenting all injuries and discipline problems. Attend all staff meetings (this may require coming in early or leaving late). Responsible for completing mid-summer and final program/staff evaluations. Responsible for daily Before & After Care general procedures. Required to notify supervisors immediately of any possible negligence or abuse of children. Required to be aware of proper emergency procedures and severe weather protocol, please refer to the employee handbook for detailed procedures. Responsible for following all health & safety protocols and procedures.
