Discovery Trails Summer Camp Counselor

Description:

The General Counselor is responsible for nurturing, interacting with, and supporting campers to create a safe and inclusive environment where they can have a fun-filled and exciting camp experience. Counselors will lead and engage campers in daily activities, ensuring their well-being and participation throughout the week. Manage a group of campers alongside co-counselor(s) Monday through Friday, ensuring their safety and supervision throughout the day. Lead campers through a structured weekly schedule that includes various camp activities such as sports, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, and team-building exercises. Participate in, teach, and assist with all camp activities, ensuring an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where campers feel encouraged to grow and make new friends. Provide mentorship and guidance to campers while helping them navigate their camp experience. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe camp environment. Adhere to all camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older. Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work in an active, outdoor environment for extended periods.
