11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-ThursdayPRIMARY FUNCTION
The Sports & Rec Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering a broad range of sports and fitness programs, including planning, implementing, supervising and ongoing evaluation of quality programs for youth grades 1st - 12th. Sports & Rec programs are run in 45-60 minute blocks each day for 1st-4th, 5th-8th and 9th-12th.KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare Youth for Success Plan and oversee the administration of sports and physical activity programs that support Youth Development Outcomes in line with Boys & Girls Club of America's programming Plan and facilitate different programs for basketball, flag football, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, soccer and additional emerging opportunities Establish Club program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission. Oversee the day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals. Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction to develop skills in program areas. Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety and development of members. Program Development and Implementation Establish and maintain Club program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members. Ensure that staff understand and effectively communicate standards of program; that they ensure program areas are safe, well ventilated and well lit; and that Club equipment is well maintained. Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity. Discuss all supply/equipment purchases needed for programs with the Club Director prior to purchase. The Club Director will monitor expenditures within the approved budget. Ensure that the program has written lesson plans with objectives each day, turned in to the Clubhouse Director. Record-keeping Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any programs/issues. Take attendance in Salesforce, collect data and prepare regular reports as needed for programs, funding sources and other projects.Relationships Internal:
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, and advise/counsel.External:
Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems, as directed by the Club Director.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Two years of experience in youth out-of-school time programming or equivalent, Boys & Girls experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of various youth sports programs such as basketball, flag football, tennis, ultimate frisbee. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics. Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to squat or bend to communicate at youths' level. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds for short periods of time. Must be able to participate in physical activities throughout the facility, on the property and/or on field trips.DISCLAIMER
