In this vital role, you will design and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact through thoughtful programming and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Collaborate with care staff to develop personalized activity plans aligned with individual preferences, abilities, and care requirements. Help to manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced calendar of events that caters to various interests and cognitive levels. Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing program improvements. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote participation and gather input on preferred activities. Qualifications Prior experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care programs, and senior care best practices is preferred, but not mandatory. Strong communication skills to connect empathetically with residents and collaborate with team members. Proven schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities seamlessly.
