Do you enjoy serving your community? The City of Livingston Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator - Sports to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of community athletic programs. This position performs advanced administrative and programmatic work overseeing all aspects of the City's sports programs and activities. Responsibilities include organizing and administering league sports and programs, as well as recruiting, training, and coordinating coaches, officials, scorekeepers, timers, and other support staff. $21.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experienceShifts:

State Retirement Vacation and sick accrual, holiday pay, paid parental leave Medical, dental, vision and life insurance and employee assistance plan Flexible spending accounts, health savings account, On-the-job paid training Essential Job Functions Regular, reliable on-site attendance Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates athletic programs and leagues, including recommending improvements to pricing, structure, and service delivery Coordinates scheduling and use of athletic facilities, including partnerships with schools, organizations, and external user groups Recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises part-time and seasonal staff Oversees program and facility operations, including game day logistics, field/gym setup, participant experience, and opening/closing procedures Maintains program records, equipment inventory, and registration data Assists with budget tracking, payment processing, and contract management Assists with marketing and communication efforts including social media, flyers, and website content Serves as a primary point of contact and maintains timely, effective working relationships with participants, families, partners, and the public Performs related duties as assigned Qualifications for Success Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and handle frequent interruptions Strong communication and customer service skills, including the ability to effectively interact with co-workers, the public, and handle complex customer interactions High attention to detail and accuracy Knowledge of municipally run youth and adult sports programs Proficiency in standard office equipment and computer software Typical Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of: Principles, rules, materials, and equipment used in athletic activities, particularly within municipal recreation programs Occupational hazards and safety precautions related to recreation and athletic programming Philosophy and objectives of public recreation and athletics Skills and abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of sports rules and program operations to assigned activities Ability to work effectively with participants, staff, and the public in a recreation setting Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, Leisure Services, or a related field and/or Prior experience in the supervision of recreation programs and/or staffPreferred:
Active involvement in organized sports, recreation programs, boards, or related organizations An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Certifications and Requirements Valid U.S. Driver's License with acceptable driving record Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification Pre-Employment Requirements The following pre-employment screenings must be successfully completed with satisfactory results after a job offer and prior to starting work: Department of Motor Vehicle Driving Record Review with approved driving history Pre-employment Drug Test Criminal Background Investigation Physical Demands / Work Environment The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
