Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for planning, communication, and daily operations of a YMCA Summer Day Camp programs held within local branches or offsite locations. This position assists in delivering high-quality camp experiences that drive enrollment, participation, and retention while providing outstanding customer service to campers and families. The Coordinator helps ensure their assigned site operates safely, effectively, and in alignment with the YMCA's mission and standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership, supervision, and clear expectations for daily Summer Day Camp activities. Plan and implement engaging daily activities that meet the needs and interests of participants and promote healthy lifestyles. Support enrollment and retention efforts by delivering high-quality programming and fostering positive relationships with families and staff. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to mandated staff-to-child ratios and YMCA safety standards. Ensure proper daily sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed in accordance with YMCA policy. Attend all required YMCA trainings and meetings. Report all accidents, incidents, and concerns in accordance with YMCA risk management procedures, including mandated reporting requirements. Maintain current certifications and remain knowledgeable of all emergency procedures. Prepare weekly schedules and calendars; support special events and fundraising initiatives as needed. Monitor and maintain program supplies, equipment, and inventory. Possess a valid driver's license with at least three years of driving experience; driving record must meet YMCA standards. Be willing and able to operate a 14-passenger vehicle in accordance with YMCA policy All other duties assigned by Management.YMCA COMPETENCIES

Minimum Age:
21 High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of experience as a camp counselor or in a leadership role; experience running camp programs is a plus! Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid (can be completed post-hire).PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings, including severe heat. Ability to verbally lead group activities. Adequate mobility, sight and hearing to effectively supervise program participants. Sufficient strength and agility to perform essential functions of position including the ability to lift a child who weighs approximately 50 pounds. Ability to perform essential functions which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: standing; sitting; semi-to-full reaching overhead; crouching; kneeling; carrying; twisting of the waist, shoulders and legs.HOURS:
Monday-Friday, 8-hr shifts ranging from 6:30AM to 6:00PMPAY RATE
