Job Description
Job Summary Join our vibrant summer camp community as a Summer Camp Counselor, where your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow through engaging activities and meaningful interactions. In this dynamic role, you will foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment, guiding campers through a variety of recreational, educational, and creative experiences. Your energy and leadership will help create unforgettable summer memories while supporting the developmental needs of each child. Duties Supervise and engage groups of children in daily camp activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment at all times Implement age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, theater performances, and outdoor adventures that promote teamwork and creativity Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies Provide first aid when necessary, responding promptly to minor injuries or health concerns in accordance with safety protocols Support children with special education needs or behavioral challenges to ensure an inclusive experience for all campers Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan and execute daily schedules aligned with camp goals and themes Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns (while maintaining confidentiality) Uphold camp policies, safety standards, and childcare regulations to ensure a secure environment for everyone involved Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments is highly preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus Strong skills in teaching, sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhance your ability to connect with campers effectively Demonstrated ability to manage diverse groups of children with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand or walk for extended periods during active camp days Passion for working with children and fostering their growth through engaging activities Join us this summer to make a positive impact on young lives while developing your leadership skills in a lively, supportive environment!
