We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Wellness Supervisor to support wellness activities for the youth we serve.
Schedule:
Flexible schedule to include days, evenings and weekends that meet the needs of the youth we serve.
What you will do:
The Wellness Supervisor is responsible for carrying out the deliverables of the wellness program as it relates to engaging youth in physical activity, hobby exploration, and skills development. They conduct recreation activities with groups in public, private, or recreation facilities. The Wellness Supervisor will work with a peer Wellness Coordinator to organize and promote activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports, music, dramatics, social recreation, camping, and hobbies, all while considering the needs and interests of individual clients. The Wellness Supervisor supervises Wellness Specialists to ensure programming is carried out. Purpose You recognize our kids by their strengths and do not judge or interact with them based on their history or behavior. Build positive relationships with youth and families through positive role-modeling and professional boundaries Develop, implement, monitor and participate in wellness activities in a residential setting Coordinate recreation activities with other departments (residential, clinical, Spiritual Life, Horse Therapy, Nursing & DMS) Engage youth through active participation in daily activities on or off-campus Caring You create a warm, welcoming environment that provides a safe place for kids to grow and learn and for staff to thrive. Evaluate, assess, and respond to the youth's physical and emotional needs in alignment with the individualized treatment plan, safety plan, cottage programming, and agency procedures Monitor and maintain a safe environment for completing wellness activities Be an advocate for youth and family Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders Engage, plan, and coordinate with the youth and treatment team in exploring activities that will help develop the youth's skills, hobbies, interests Learning You evaluate our programs, attend trainings, and integrate new practices to ensure our kids and families receive the best care we can provide. Discover and access resources in the community to build relationships to help meet needs and interests of clients Implementation of wellness goals through individual sessions with youth Complete monthly summaries, progress notes in individual programs to show client's progress in wellness programs Work with youth to explore their interests inside and outside of treatment. Minimum qualifications/education : Must be 21 or older at the time of application. High school diploma or equivalent Must pass a background check, including criminal, abuse, and motor vehicle Must have a current driver's license & an insurable driving record Bachelor's degree form a four-year college or university OR one to two years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates that have a degree or certification in Physical Education, Personal Training or a similar field of expertise
