Assistant Director of Member Activities Reports to:

Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Assistant Director of Member Activities provides operational leadership for the Hub, Play Zone, and Building Supervision functions within the Membership Department. This role combines hands-on floor leadership with supervisory responsibilities, staffing management, concessions oversight, and inventory control. The Assistant Director of Member Activities supports the broader membership team while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and consistently excellent experience for all members and guests. Essential Responsibilities Hub & Play Zone Operations
  • Lead daily operations of the Hub and Play Zone, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational consistency — including setup, service, and close-down procedures — to ensure an engaging environment for all members and guests.
  • Oversee daily concessions operations including food service safety standards and team compliance with applicable health regulations
  • Manage supply ordering, inventory tracking, and vendor coordination for Hub and Play Zone spaces
  • Monitor concessions operations and report trends or concerns to department leadership
  • Maintain food service certification and ensure all applicable staff meet safety training requirements
  • Provide primary support for Building Supervisor scheduling and daily operational direction Staffing & Scheduling
  • Manage scheduling for Hub, Play Zone, and Building Supervisor staff to ensure adequate coverage and operational continuity
  • Supervise and provide formal oversight of the Y-Crew, including performance management, coaching, and corrective feedback
  • Serve as primary trainer for new Y-Crew
  • Communicate policy updates and operational changes to team members Director on Duty
  • Participate in the Director on Duty (DOD) rotation, serving as the building-wide leadership contact during assigned shifts
  • Respond to facility issues, member concerns, and urgent operational needs as they arise
  • Communicate facility status and any incidents to the Membership Director in a timely manner Additional Duties
  • Assist with fundraising, special events, and special projects as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals
  • Incorporate and promote safety activities while performing job functions
  • Develop working knowledge of Pulse and core membership processes through cross-training with the membership operations team
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Membership Director (Operations) to ensure smooth handoffs and shared coverage across departments

  • CPR certification (or willingness to complete within first 30 days)
  • Experience in operations, recreation, hospitality, or a related field with supervisory responsibilities
  • Food service safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with members, guests, and colleagues
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems and basic reporting tools
  • Ability to relate to and work effectively with diverse groups
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, bending, and movement throughout facility
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable working in moderate to heavy noise environments Work Schedule This position requires 40 hours per week with a schedule primarily based in the Hub and Play Zone.
Schedule flexibility is required to meet operational and staff needs, including evenings and weekends. Compensation $19 - $21 / hour
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
