  • 4:30 PM (extended hours may be available based on enrollment)

We are committed to providing engaging, safe, and enriching experiences for children of all ages. Overview Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Camp Counselor dedicated to inspiring and nurturing children from kindergarten through fifth grade! In this energetic role, you will create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where young learners can explore new activities, develop social skills, and build lasting memories. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages growth, creativity, and teamwork. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's summer experiences while developing your skills in education, childcare, and youth development. Counselors will work with small groups of approximately 10-15 children .
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise daily camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games, ensuring all children are actively engaged and safe. Manage classroom behavior using positive discipline techniques and effective behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions. Maintain constant supervision of children to ensure safety at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during camp hours. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by or implementing tailored strategies. Support children with varying social-emotional needs in a calm and professional manner Administer basic first aid when necessary, following proper protocols to address minor injuries or health issues promptly. Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan engaging activities that promote teamwork, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk long distances (miles throughout the day) Ability to stand, move, and actively participate in outdoor activities for extended periods Comfortable working in various weather conditions Experience Valid Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher Certification (REQUIRED) CPR and First Aid Certification (required or must be completed prior to start date) Experience working with school-age children sports coaching, or theater is highly preferred Strong classroom management and behavior guidance skills Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations Strong communication and leadership skills Energetic, dependable, and team-oriented Creativity and experience in art, STEM activities, and/or athletics strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to lead activities confidently while ensuring safety and fostering an inclusive atmosphere is essential.
