Summer Day Camp Counselor

Who We Are and What We Do As a Mad Scientist, you will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really all about! We strive to teach kids science in a digestible manner that will stay with them for a life time. You will present awesome, hands-on science programs to elementary-aged kids, including launching your very own rockets hundreds of feet into the air and performing many other thrilling experiments! Kids (and adults) will be amazed! Camp themes include

BRIXOLOGY, NASA STEM

Explorers, Robots:

Paths to Power, Underground Explorers, Chemical Curiosities, and many more! We work in collaboration with NASA and Lego™ to develop some of our science programs! Responsibilities Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement Set up activity spaces, organizing materials, and cleaning up after activities Become a master in making slime Attend orientation and training prior to teaching camp. Must be able to lift equipment in kits, can vary in size and weight (heavier kits have wheels). Your vehicle must be able to accommodate the equipment for camp. Must be able to drive to and from camps close to your home location with your own vehicle. Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp environments is helpful Knowledge of classroom management strategies and childhood development principles Strong skills in teaching, childcare, sports coaching, theater arts, or counseling are beneficial Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a positive atmosphere for all participants Schedule and Pay You can either work half or full day camps. You do not have to work full day camps, but the more availability you have, the more you can work. Camps run Monday-Friday.

Half day:

9am-12:30pm or 12:30-3:30pm.

Full day:

9am-3:30pm Half day camps pay $325.00 per week, and full day camps pay $575.00 per week. Join us to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through fun-filled learning experiences!
