Camp Counselor

Job Description This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Camp Counselor supports the mission of the West Morris Area YMCA by fostering a passion for the joy of learning and adventure in children. Must be at least 17 years old. Junior/Senior Counselor Positions available. Qualifications CPR/First aid certification (preferred). Understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of the YMCA. 1-year experience working with children in a learning or camp environment (preferred). Ability to effectively relate to diverse groups of people from all socio-economic backgrounds and communities.

EMERGENCY

First Aid and/or CPR to any injured person as needed. 4. Maintain records and forms required by the Senior Youth Services Director. 5. Supervise and discipline children based on written policies. 6. Counselors consult with the Camp Leadership on any questions of policy or procedure, disciplinary action, or safety. 7. Ensure that areas, equipment, and facilities used by the students are maintained in a clean, serviceable, safe, and orderly manner. 8. Share skills and talents for the improvement of the program. 9.
