JOB DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works under the supervision of the Recreation Sports Supervisor. Responsible for securing reservations and collecting fees at the tennis pro shop. Responsible for following and enforcing reservation policy and fee collection set up by the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department. Responsible for balancing daily cash register, completing daily reports, and delivering deposits to the Recreation Center. Responsible for maintaining inventory and contacting the Recreation Center to order all supplies. Responsible for scheduling staff to cover all hours the pro shop is open to the public. Responsible for the planning and facilitating of tennis programming for both youth and adults. Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other staff and all members of the general public. Responsible for cleaning the tennis pro shop and restrooms. Responsible for selling tennis supplies and equipment. Responsible for reporting all accidents to the Recreation Sports Supervisor and/or Recreation Manager, and completely fills out proper accident/incident form. May be required to squeegee the tennis courts after a heavy rain to make courts playable and perform other court maintenance as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
This position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing, and follow-up testing. Extensive background checks will be conducted. Must have experience in supervision and working with the public. Strong working background and knowledge of the game and rules of tennis, with a minimum of two years of progressive tennis instruction. Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED, preferred. Advanced public relations skills necessary. Ability to give suitable assignments and instruction to employees; to work harmoniously with associates, general public, and organizations. Ability to balance a cash register and make bank deposits. Ability to schedule staff effectively, and ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed. Must have a telephone at residence.

DUTIES ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a creative leadership position for a librarian who is passionate about teens and tweens and excited to design services that are relevant, welcoming, and future-focused. You will have the autonomy to imagine new programs, shape collections, activate spaces, and build meaningful relationships with young people while mentoring staff and collaborating across the organization. This position plays a central role in imagining and delivering innovative services for tweens and teens. Under the strategic leadership of the Youth Services Coordinator, this position leads the day-to-day vision and direction of teen services with significant independence. The role is empowered to bring creativity, initiative, and professional expertise to the work while advancing shared departmental goals and contributing to broader priorities and long-range planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and evaluate innovative, interest-driven programs for teens ages 13-18 and tweens ages 8-12, using creative approaches and emerging trends to continually reimagine what youth library services can be. Champion a responsive, high-impact selection of young adult materials that reflects the identities, interests, and curiosities of teens. Exercise professional judgment in selecting, promoting, and evolving the collection using professional reviews, the library's material selection policy, community insight, and usage data. Provide inspiring day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Youth Services Clerks, Technicians, volunteers, and assigned staff, supporting their growth and success. Help shape the future of the team by participating in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, skill-building, and continuous coaching. Lead the vision for the Teen Zone as a vibrant, flexible, and highly used destination. Serve as a dynamic ambassador for the library and for young people, building meaningful connections and elevating the visibility of teen and tween services. Creatively promote programs, collections, and services through social media, newsletters, digital storytelling, and in-person outreach. Lead engaging tours, programs, and presentations that introduce new audiences to the library in memorable ways. Manage designated budget areas, making decisions about resource allocation with accountability, responsibility, and innovative thinking to expand and enhance services. Play an active role in department-wide operations, supporting shared service points, team initiatives, and coordinated outreach programs. Keep informed of current trends, technology, and developments affecting librarians through professional reading, education opportunities, and participation in professional organizations. Works under the supervision of the Library Computer Support Supervisor (Public Technology Coordinator). Must be available during peak use hours, which include weekdays, evenings and weekends.
