Recreation Activity Coordinator Location:

As a Recreation Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational programs and activities for individuals or groups within a community or organization. You will create engaging and inclusive programs that promote physical activity, social interaction, and personal development. Your role involves coordinating schedules, managing resources, and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.
Responsibilities:
Program Development:
Design and develop recreational programs and activities suitable for various age groups, interests, and abilities.
Event Planning:
Organize and oversee recreational events, outings, and tournaments, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed effectively.
Participant Engagement:
Engage participants through creative and interactive activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Resource Management:
Manage resources such as equipment, facilities, and supplies required for recreational activities, ensuring they are utilized efficiently.
Safety Oversight:
Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of participants during all activities.
Community Engagement:
Build relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations to promote participation in recreational programs.
Documentation and Evaluation:
Maintain accurate records of program attendance, feedback, and evaluations to assess effectiveness and inform future planning.
Staff Supervision:
Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers involved in recreational programs, ensuring they adhere to program goals and standards.
Budget Management:
Assist in budget planning and management for recreational programs, ensuring expenditures are within allocated resources. Assist in developing and managing the department budget.
Promotion and Marketing:
Develop promotional materials and strategies to increase awareness and participation in recreational activities.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulations in the field of recreation and leisure services, continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth. Must be able to provide coverage in the event of an employee absence due to unexpected circumstances. •And other duties as assigned. • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of work location.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Previous experience in recreational programming, event planning, or community engagement. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. CPR and First Aid certification (preferred). Passion for promoting health, wellness, and social connection through recreational activities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods. Lift and carry equipment and supplies as needed. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate program schedules and events. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and job-related physical examination conducted in accordance with applicable New Mexico and federal law. The Company maintains a drug-free workplace policy, including testing for marijuana/cannabis and other controlled substances. Applicants who test positive may be disqualified from employment where permitted by law and where job requirements, workplace safety, or business necessity warrant such action.
