Full Job Description Description Job Overview:
As a Fitness Center Coordinator, you'll be responsible for providing front-line customer service to members and guests accessing the Fitness Center.
Compensation:
$19 per hour FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate per the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Your Responsibilities:
Opens or closes the facility, as shift requires, following established procedures. Answers phone and responds to member requests for information/service. Operates cash register selling various products; counts cash drawer and verifies deposit. Monitors the various areas of the facility for proper use and safety including the fitness floor, aerobics room, swimming pools, bocce courts, tennis courts, and pickleball courts, documents, and reports in a timely manner any safety or maintenance issues to the Fitness Manager. Checks membership cards for validity and enters cards into Jonas management system to track facility use. Facilitates guest use of the Fitness Center ensuring the guest is accompanied by a resident, that the electronic guest pass is deducted from the system, and that a waiver of liability form is completed. Educate members and guests on the rules for safe facility use. Issues fitness equipment to facility users retaining member cards until equipment is returned. Inspect equipment upon return to ensure that equipment is in good working order and all components have been returned. Control and monitor lap lane assignments for the pool, treadmill sign-ups, tennis court reservations, and the sound levels throughout the facility, including sound generated by portable devices. Works with & takes directions from the Fitness Manager in coordinating the provision of services and seamless operations for the Fitness Center. Performs light custodial duties including, but not limited to, wiping off equipment, restocking restroom supplies, and sweeping. Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Effective written & oral communication. Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Board, staff, residents, volunteers, and contractors. Superior "people" skills; handle stressful situations, handle multiple tasks. Working knowledge of SCA policies and procedures and ability to communicate these effectively to staff and residents. Use a computer, operate the cash register, add deposit slips, and record appointments. In-depth knowledge of fitness programming and health issues pertinent to an older adult population and experience in program delivery. Obtain and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid Safety/Automated External Defibrillator. Additional duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school with experience in using computers and cash registers; college coursework preferred. Personable and customer-service oriented. Work evenings and weekends, and maintain First Aid/CPR/defibrillator certifications.
