Primary Function:
The Youth Athletic Professional leads sports and physical activity programs that promote health, teamwork, and leadership among youth ages 5 to 19. They collaborate with the Athletic Coordinator to design and implement recreational and competitive sports programs, fitness activities, and wellness initiatives while ensuring safety and positive youth development.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate sports and fitness activities, including basketball, soccer, track, and strength training.
- Lead structured physical education programs that promote teamwork, discipline, and goal-setting.
- Provide instruction on fundamental skills, strategy, and rules for various sports.
- Encourage participation in team-building exercises and leadership development activities.
- Organize and supervise intramural and community-based sports leagues and tournaments.
- Ensure all athletic programs adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
- Promote physical fitness and wellness through nutrition education and fitness challenges.
- Mentor youth on healthy lifestyle choices and the importance of physical activity.
- Supervise members during activities, maintaining a positive and disciplined environment.
- Maintain sports equipment and facility cleanliness.
- Collaborate with schools and community partners to expand athletic opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High School Diploma required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
Experience in coaching, youth sports, fitness training, or recreational program management.
- Strong knowledge of athletic training, sports rules, and injury prevention.
- Ability to lead and engage large groups in structured physical activities.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- CPR, First Aid, and Coaching Certifications (or willingness to obtain).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
: All Candidates must be able to pass an annual OCFS and Background Check to hold this position.
