Main Purpose of Role:
This role is part of Léman Manhattan's vibrant, collaborative learning community, which delivers an engaging and academically rigorous program for all students. (The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role) Attend precamp meetings Provide ongoing supervision of campers under the direction of Head Counselor Help supervise daily arrival and dismissal of your campers, including monitoring of authorized pick up list Help create and maintain a positive group/classroom culture (ex: morning meetings & closing circles, fun lineup procedures, call & response cheers, cubby & wall décor, etc); keep classroom orderly and respect the spaces you are using Accompany group to different activities and provide support as needed Help ensure that group is following their schedule appropriately and is punctual to activities Ensure that all camp safety protocols are being followed Help monitor dietary needs and other specific needs within your group Serve as a role model to the campers assigned to your group through your interactions with them and other staff, your language, general appearance and behavior Perform other tasks to support the program as assigned by Director/Assistant Director under direction ofHead Counselor Qualifications:
High School diploma required; some college preferredExperience:
At least 2 examples of experience working with children (includes babysitting, volunteer work, paid jobs, internships, etc) Experience working with the age group to which you are assigned Preferred that candidates have worked at and attended summer camp settings previouslySimilar jobs in Bowling Green, NY
