Job Description

Activity Aide / Recreation Assistant We are seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dependable individual to join our Recreation Department at The Pavilion at Queens in Flushing, Queens. The Activity Aide/Recreation Assistant will play an important role in enhancing residents' quality of life by encouraging participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities while fostering a positive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with phone calls, video chats, and other communication needs to help them stay connected with family and loved ones Escort residents safely throughout the facility, including residents using wheelchairs, to scheduled activities and events Engage residents in both group and one-on-one activities such as games, arts and crafts, holiday celebrations, social events, and recreational programs Help plan, lead, and support activities designed to promote resident participation, enjoyment, and overall well-being Encourage social interaction and create a positive, welcoming environment for residents Collaborate with the Recreation Department team and assist with additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
Reliable, punctual, and responsible individual with a strong work ethic Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable interacting with elderly and medically complex residents with patience, kindness, and respect Positive, energetic personality with a genuine passion for helping others Ability to work well independently and as part of a team Previous recreation, activities, customer service, or related experience is a plus, but not required College students are encouraged to apply
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 1:30 PM - 8:00
PM Location:
Flushing, Queens Pay:
$18.00 per hour
