7309 Seneca Rd N, Hornell, NY 14843 Under the direction of the Activities Coordinator, the Activities Assistant supports the planning, implementation, and delivery of a comprehensive activity program designed to meet the needs of the client population served. Essential Job Functions Assist in the design, development, and facilitation of activity programs tailored to participants' interests, abilities, and needs. Activities include a mix of small-group, one-on-one, and large-group formats and reflect the needs of a multigenerational population. Gather client feedback to improve activity offerings and program implementation. Support the Activities Coordinator in researching and introducing new activity ideas based on participant input. Assist in developing and distributing monthly activity and program schedules to staff and clients. Transport and/or escort participants to and from activities within the program, on agency grounds, and during off-site trips. Complete administrative duties, including attendance tracking, calendar development, and required activity/event reporting. Coordinate and encourage client participation in activities and services. Obtain, organize, and maintain equipment and supplies used for activities. Set up and clean up activity spaces. Operate personal and agency vehicles for client transportation and mobile services. Represent the agency in a professional and positive manner. Comply with agency confidentiality policies, HIPAA, and all applicable procedures and regulations. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with agency and OASAS standards. Secondary Functions Participate as an active member of an interdisciplinary team to support coordinated client care. Engage in supervision and professional development to promote continuous improvement. Stay informed of current policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of substance use disorders and their impact on individuals and families, including human behavior, motivation, and attitudes. Familiarity with substance abuse treatment principles, practices, and group dynamics. Awareness of community resources available to individuals with substance use disorders. Ability to recognize signs of substance use and gather relevant background information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, volunteers, and the public. Work is primarily conducted in a residential setting and includes facilitating and participating in semi-active programs. Qualifications High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience as a Residential Activities Assistant working with individuals with alcohol or substance use disorders preferred. Valid driver's license required.
