Job Description

About the Counselor Position Creator Camp is seeking dynamic and creative Counselors for our summer 2026 session. As a Counselor, you will inspire and educate campers in various creative disciplines, including animation, filmmaking, game design, music production, content creation, and entrepreneurship. You'll use your own passion for creativity and technological prowess to help kids reimagine their relationship with technology to be a creator, just like you. Time Commitment Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM Part-time/Full-time The summer program runs for 7-11 weeks. Counselors may expect 24-40 hours per week, depending on enrollment. Counselors will complete remote training and attend an in-person orientation 1-2 weeks prior to camp, both paid. The Counselors may be asked to stay and supervise campers for extended care up to 4:30PM. To reduce burnout, all counselors will take 1-hour break each day to maintain energy, and bring their best to the campers. New York City Details June 22-August 28 (Exact dates dependent on location) $17-$19/Hour Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens Qualifications At least ONE year of classroom experience, which can include roles such as tutoring, summer camp counseling, coaching, teacher's assistant, or art instruction. Minimum of TWO years of experience working with children, whether through babysitting, tutoring, supervising younger siblings, or working in daycare facilities. Higher education in fields related to digital art, filmmaking, animation, coding, music production, game design, entrepreneurship, early childhood education, secondary education, or special education. MUST be available the entire summer. Knowledge of and interest in Minecraft and/or Roblox Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Willingness to lead classes in multiple subjects. Must pass a background check. Responsibilities Deliver course content related to your expertise, whether it's digital art, filmmaking, animation, coding, music production, or game design. Report to the Camp Manager. Supervise a class of 4-20 campers with the help of an Assistant Counselor. Actively participate in campers' projects; for instance, some campers might involve you in their film creations. Monitor campers and organize activities during recess and lunch breaks. Craft personalized 'Thank You' cards for campers at the end of camp to inspire their creative journeys. Prepare the classroom for the next day by organizing and tidying up. Collaborate in hosting the Creator Camp Oscars Ceremony and present campers with their well-earned trophies. Facilitate the check-in and check-out process during drop-off and pick-up. Stay and supervise campers for extended care for up to 4:30PM or 5:30PM. Apply if you...
