Job Description

Recreation Supervisor Berkshire Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing - West Babylon, NY Berkshire Center is seeking an experienced, energetic, and compassionate Recreation Supervisor to join our Recreation Department. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated professional who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life of our residents through engaging recreational programming and meaningful resident interactions. Responsibilities Assist in the daily operation and supervision of the Recreation Department. Assume departmental leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Recreation Director. Plan, assign, and facilitate group activities and individualized 1:1 resident programs. Complete MDS assessments, care plans, new admission evaluations, quarterly reviews, and significant change assessments accurately and within required timeframes. Monitor resident participation and report concerns, changes, or issues to the Recreation Director. Provide support and coverage for Recreation Leaders as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all facility and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing home setting or recreational program within the past 5 years. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Computer proficiency required; experience with SigmaCare EMR preferred. Must be dependable, flexible, and resident-focused. Physical Requirements Ability to transport residents safely to and from activities. Ability to set up and break down activity spaces, including moving tables and chairs. Must be capable of performing physical tasks requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds.
