GED Full Job Description Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY

To assist the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in planning and implementation of recreational activities and programmatic events for the children in the Children's Center.

Complete daily session attendance/statistics in the EMR Assist in decorating of facility for holidays and events. Assist in selection, planning and implementation of special events. Maintain supplies in orderly manner. Assist in selection and ordering of supplies. Attend all pertinent educational in services and neighborhood team meetings. Assist CTRS with implementation of individual and group activities. Provide individual activities as assigned by neighborhood CTRS. Keep neighborhood CTRS informed on all resident participation and response to individual and group activities. Maintain and be able to have a flexible schedule Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the neighborhood CTRS, Chief Rehabilitation Officer and/or Vice President of Operations.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma; Associate degree in Therapeutic Recreation or Health Related Field preferred

Experience:

2 years of related experience; experience with pediatric population preferred.

Employee Requirements:

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently. Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center which includes a medical and physical examination. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. Perform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident's blood/body fluids. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.

Working Conditions:

Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated area. Will be subject to frequent interruptions. May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.

Salary Range:

$25.94/Hr. To $27.79/Hr.
