Activity Assistant Dynamic Healthcare Training Center Akron, OH Job Details Part-time $15 - $16 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Recreation therapy Adult day care experience Calendar management Full Job Description Job Summary The Activities Assistiant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in senior care and assisted living facilities. This position is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being among residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caregiving and a strong understanding of the unique needs of seniors, including those with disabilities or dementia. Responsibilities Assist with the development and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Organize recreational therapy sessions that support physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Assist with facilitating group activities that encourage socialization and community building among residents. Assist with managing schedules for daily activities, ensuring a balanced mix of programs that cater to diverse resident needs. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities. Monitor resident engagement and adapt programs based on feedback and observed interests. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events and outings. Assist with maintaining accurate records of participation and assess the effectiveness of programs. Requirements Experience in senior care or assisted living environments is preferred. Knowledge of caregiving practices, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques and memory care strategies. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being flexible to accommodate resident needs. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is a plus. A compassionate approach to care that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of all residents.
