DIRECTOR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide a therapeutic activity program that meets all Federal and State guidelines as well as the needs and interests of all residents.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of High School Diploma Activity certification preferred. One year experience working in long term care setting is preferred.
Desirable characteristics:
energetic, good listener, considerate, flexible, patient, helpful, friendly, kind, and able to motivate others and generate enthusiasm. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience with a wide variety of leisure time activities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Assist residents in contacting their family through mail, phone, and video calls. 2. Help with constructing large calendars, decorating boards, and hanging calendars. 3. Set up, coordinate, and lead small group and one on one activities as scheduled. 4. Assist Activities Coordinator with large group activities. 5. Transport residents to and from activities 6. Distribute materials sent in for the blind. 7. Document and record resident activity participation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires ability to perform office/clerical duties and use computer. Requires participation in and leading of direct physical activities, indoors and out. Requires standing and walking frequently throughout the working day. Job involves reaching, bending, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying and manipulating various supplies and equipment. Involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, infections, illnesses and/or loud noises.
