Competitive Weekly Pay Primary Purpose of Position The Rickenbacker Woods Foundation is seeking energetic, dependable, and positive individuals to serve as Summer Camp Counselors for the 2026 Summer Youth Adventure Camp. Camp Counselors help create a safe, structured, creative, and engaging environment for youth while supporting educational enrichment, recreation, social-emotional growth, teamwork, leadership development, and hands-on STEAM learning experiences. Counselors serve as mentors and role models while helping youth participate in activities centered around science, arts, innovation, wellness, aviation, local history, environmental education, storytelling, and community engagement. Duties & Responsibilities Provide close supervision of campers during all daily activities, transitions, meals, recreation, and field trips Lead and actively participate in educational, recreational, arts, wellness, and STEAM-based activities Help maintain a safe, organized, positive, and inclusive camp environment Encourage teamwork, participation, leadership, creativity, and respectful peer interaction Support campers' social-emotional growth through positive mentorship and encouragement Assist with setup, cleanup, meal distribution, attendance, and daily camp operations Follow all camp policies, procedures, safety standards, and emergency protocols Communicate professionally with camp leadership, staff, parents/guardians, and community partners when necessary Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns, camper needs, and emergency situations Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program development activities Assist with field trips, special events, family engagement activities, and end-of-summer showcases Support data collection, reporting activities, and documentation as required Perform additional duties as assigned by camp leadership Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience working with children or youth strongly preferred Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Reliable, patient, energetic, adaptable, and professional Ability to maintain structured routines while fostering fun and creativity Strong situational awareness and safety-focused mindset CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain if required) Employment contingent upon successful background check Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and participate in activities throughout the day Ability to lift up to 30 pounds Ability to supervise youth during indoor and outdoor programming Ability to travel with campers during local field trips using group transportation Skills & Competencies Positive youth engagement and supervision skills Professional communication and teamwork Time management and adaptability Ability to foster structured yet fun learning environments Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Commitment to creating respectful and inclusive environments Willingness to participate in training and professional development opportunities Why Join RWF?
