In this energetic role, you will create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where kids can explore new activities, develop essential skills, and build lifelong friendships. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young minds while fostering their social, emotional, and physical development. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact during the summer months while honing your leadership and childcare skills. Responsibilities Lead engaging activities across various camp programs including arts, sports, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote creativity and teamwork. Ensure the safety of all campers by supervising their activities closely and implementing proper behavior management techniques. Foster an inclusive environment by working effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including those with special education needs. Maintain clear communication with campers, parents, and fellow staff to support a cohesive camp experience. Provide first aid when necessary, following safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly. Assist with daily camp routines such as check-in/check-out procedures, meal supervision, and setting up activity stations. Support campers' emotional well-being through Christian counseling principles or other positive guidance methods to promote respect and kindness. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as behavioral health, daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly preferred. Strong classroom management skills to guide behavior positively and maintain an organized environment. Knowledge of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate activities and interactions. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus. Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high energy levels throughout the day.
