Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$35.98 - $47.67 per hour, commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience.

Core Responsibilities Strategic Vision:
Formulate and direct departmental goals, objectives, and priorities while evaluating the effectiveness of all programs and facilities.
Organizational Leadership:
Manage, supervise, and mentor all full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, overseeing everything from hiring and training to personnel development and performance coaching.
Community & Media Engagement:
Promote department services, lead marketing and retention strategies, and maintain active communication with community members, media representatives, and special interest groups.
Budget & Fiscal Management:
Prepare and administer the department budget, monitor expenditures, and oversee purchasing duties to ensure financial goals are met.
Operational Excellence:
Coordinate with other city departments and vendors to oversee the planning, design, and construction of high-quality recreation facilities.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of recent, demonstrated experience in administrative recreation management, recreational programming, or facilities planning, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Licensure & Certifications:
Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license and remain insurable under the City's policy. Must obtain or hold First Aid, CPR, AED, Certified Pool Operator, and
NIMS 100/700
certifications within six months of appointment. Additional training (including Ohio ethics/Sunshine Law, concussion training, and Lindsay's Law) must be completed within six months of appointment. Certified Parks and Recreation Professional certification is preferred. Physical Demands & Working Conditions This position is classified as light to medium work and includes requirements for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
