Job Description
Black & Green Internship Do you like spending time outside and are you interested in working with kids? Have you participated in the Beaverton Black People's Union (BBPU) and Tualatin Hills Nature Center (THNC) Black & Green Fellowship and want to expand your experiences with a nature internship? The Black & Green Internship might be the perfect summer job for you! This paid position, for youth ages 16-20, is a part of the Tualatin Hills Nature Center's Black & Green Fellowship in partnership with Beaverton Black People's Union. Requirements Must be at least sixteen (16) years old to apply Must be interested in working with kids Must be able to work outside, rain or shine Schedule Interns are asked to commit to 200-250 hours over the summer, between June 12 - August 21, 2026. Schedules are flexible and are typically scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Responsibilities Nature Programs Interns (Paid) are responsible for assisting with the planning and instruction of nature camp and nature program activities for summer participants. Activities include, but are not limited to: leading group games, activities, singing songs, arts and crafts, and participating in nature hikes.
Pay Rate Range:
$18.27-19.42 per hour. Candidates with bilingual abilities will be eligible for a 5% bilingual pay incentive if and when they are assigned to community engagement programs. •Employees receive free drop-in access to all THPRD recreation facilities for their household.
