In this dynamic role, you will serve as a guiding leader, fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of various ages. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire campers to explore new activities, develop essential skills, and create unforgettable summer memories. As a pivotal member of our camp staff, you will coordinate daily activities, mentor junior counselors, and ensure every child feels valued and supported throughout their summer journey. Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater performances, and outdoor adventures, ensuring all activities are fun, safe, and inclusive. Manage classroom dynamics by implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting positive social interactions among campers. Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any medical or safety concerns following established protocols. Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized guidance in collaboration with specialists or parents. Mentor junior counselors by offering guidance on activity planning, child engagement techniques, and safety procedures. Foster a nurturing environment rooted in respect, kindness, and Christian values to promote character development alongside fun. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns while maintaining confidentiality. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments. Strong classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles. Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional training in special education or behavior management is a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead activities involving sports coaching, theater arts, or other recreational programs. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate children and collaborate effectively with team members. Passion for working with youth and fostering a positive camp experience grounded in Christian counseling values. Prior experience in early childhood education or childcare is highly desirable.
