Camp Counselor

Job Overview:

We are NJ Camp Jaycee, a residential summer camp for Adults with Intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our campers participate in a recreational overnight program, taking part in sports, swimming, boating, arts and crafts, dance, sensory and nature. It is a magnificent environment. We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors. As a Camp Counsellor, you will play a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for camper to learn, grow, and make lasting memories. This is a paid position.

• this is a live in position on camp, summer salary with food and board included. Summer dates are June 11th till August 16th

Duties:

• Supervise and engage with campers during various activities and outings
• Plan and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, and educational activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times
• Assist with meal times, including serving
• Provide guidance and support to campers
• Collaborate with other counselors to create a positive camp experience

Experience:

(Not Essential)

• Experience working with students or children in an educational or daycare setting
• Knowledge of summer camp enviroment

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with people
