Assistant to the Superintendent for HR / Assistant to the Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
LOCATION
Mericle Field House
POSITION GOAL
Oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the Mericle Field House, ensuring it is optimized for both daily use and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Maintenance & Upkeep:
Manage the physical condition of indoor and outdoor surfaces, including turf management, HVAC, lighting, and scoreboards.
Supervise Maintenance Teams:
Coordinate with maintenance staff and ensure timely repairs and upkeep of the facility.
Oversee Security Measures:
Manage facility security and control access to ensure a safe environment.
Event Coordination:
Oversee the scheduling and execution of practices, tournaments, and non-athletic events (concerts, community gatherings); coordinate setup and teardown logistics.
Safety & Compliance:
Implement risk management protocols, ensure OSHA compliance, and maintain emergency evacuation plans.
Stakeholder Relations:
Act as a primary liaison between the District, coaching staff, athletic directors, and the public to meet their needs.
Implement Policies:
Develop and enforce facility policies and procedures to maintain order and efficiency.
Manage Technology Systems:
Manage the facility's technology and communication systems to ensure seamless operations. Maintain a procedures manual for this position, reviewing annually and submitting revisions to supervisor at time of revision. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. The duties listed above do not express or imply that they are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent in this position. The employee will be required to perform other position-related duties requested by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Facility Management, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in sports facility management Strong organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of facility maintenance and safety protocols. Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email and database Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in computer systems and management software. Current Act 24 (82), Act 34, Act 114, Act 151, Act 168 clearances, pre-employment drug test and physical with TB test. The person, while performing in this position, will be required to: have the ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility, with occasional lifting and flexible work hours.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
12 months; 8 hours per day. (Flexible Hours, Weekend work required) Salary according to the agreement between the Board of School Directors and the Non-Classified Employees and benefits according to the agreement between the Board of School Directors and the
H.A.A.S.A.
