Overview Join our vibrant summer camp team as an Erdenheim Farm Foundation Explorers Camp Counselor! This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate children through engaging outdoor activities, hands-on learning experiences, and creative play. As a camp counselor, you will foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where young explorers can discover the wonders of nature, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create memorable summer moments that ignite curiosity and promote growth in every child. Duties Lead and supervise groups of children during daily camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Plan, organize, and facilitate educational lessons focused on nature, agriculture, and environmental stewardship Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies Attain CPR and First Aid Certification; Administer first aid when necessary, maintaining a calm demeanor and following proper protocols to ensure children's well-being Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages teamwork, creativity, and exploration Communicate regularly with staff regarding campers' progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions 6 week camp session; Staff schedules are flexible (6 week commitment not required) Experience Previous experience working with children in educational settings such as classrooms, daycare centers, or camps is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Skills in classroom management, behavior management, and child safety protocols Certifications in first aid and CPR are required, or must be acquired prior to beginning work Experience in coaching, theater arts, babysitting, tutoring, or childcare enhances your ability to connect with diverse groups of children Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds in a fast-paced, outdoor environment Passion for outdoor/science education, environmental conservation, or farm-based programs will help inspire young explorers Join us to make a meaningful impact this summer by nurturing curiosity, fostering growth, and creating joyful outdoor experiences for children!
