Full Job Description Essential Job Functions:
Supervise campers at all times throughout the day, including transition periods and engage campers in appropriate activities throughout the day Design and lead age appropriate activity plans for schedule blocks that not hosted by a Program Coordinator Working with your Junior Summer Camp Counselor, teach campers how to communicate effectively, build relationships and respect diversity Maintain accurate attendance records, first aid logs (if needed), and open communication with camper parents/guardians Administer basic first aid and provide emotional support when necessary Enforce safety protocols and guidelines Educate campers and your Junior Counselor on identifying, resolving, and avoiding conflict Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with camp staff, campers, parents and all other contacts associated with Camp Garrett Create and maintain positive business and working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, families, campers, and the community
Qualifications, Skills, and Ability:
Junior Counselors must be at least 16 years of age and Senior Counselors must be at least 18 years of age Experience working with children and young adults (preferred) Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions
Other Job Duties:
Participate in camp activities, programs and meetings, including staff meetings Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of Camp and shared facilities If assigned, fulfill the role of Head Senior Counselor by being a resource for Senior Counselors who need support with scheduling, games and activities, and general camp policies and procedures All other duties as assigned
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Application Question(s): Will you be 18 years old or older by 6/22?
