Job Description
Primary Role:
To further the mission of Garrett Williamson by helping to organize and supervise camper activities. A successful Summer Camp Administrative Lead Coordinator will foster positive relationships with campers and staff while assisting with various camp operations.Immediate Supervisor:
Camp and Agriculture Education Director Essential Job Functions:
Assist the Camp and Agriculture Education Director and Assistant Camp and Agriculture Education Director with key administrative tasks required to successfully manage summer camp, including but not necessarily limited to answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining organized camper registration and other records Contribute to the planning and execution of program activities for campers, ensuring alignment with Camp Garrett's weekly themes and desired outcomes Apply basic youth development principles in working with campers through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, inclusion, and empowerment of youth Understand and consistently demonstrate adherence to all safety guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for campers and staff Assist in teaching assigned activities and actively participate in all designated camp programs, including but not limited to nature, art and other activities as directed Observe and assess campers' and staff needs and communicate them to the Camp and Agriculture Education Directors when appropriate Observe and assess camp equipment and facilities usage to ensure proper utilization and maintenance, reporting any necessary repairs promptly to Camp and Agriculture Education Director Serve as a positive role model for campers and staff by demonstrating adherence to camp procedures and practices Maintain a positive attitude while welcoming families during drop off/pick up, confidently and promptly address questions and concerns with professionalism and care Serve as a resource for staff who need support with conflict resolution, behavior management or input regarding games and activities Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with camp staff, campers, parents, and all other contacts associated with Camp Garrett Create and maintain positive business and working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, families, campers and the communityQualifications, Skills, and Ability:
Must be at least 18 years of age Bachelor's Degree in Education or related human services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Experience working with children and young adults Desire and ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditionsOther Job Duties:
Participate in staff meetings as directed Assist in general maintenance and upkeep of Camp and shared facilities The ability to lift at least 25 pounds All other duties as assigned Physical/Cognitive Requirements of theEssential Job Functions:
This position requires strong listening and observation skills, the ability to take corrective actions when necessary, and the capacity to read and comprehend instructions and manuals. Additionally, it requires the physical ability to navigate the camp property in various environmental conditions.Pay:
