Job Description:
The Extended Day Assistant supports the daily operations of the school's after school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students. This role involves supervising children, assisting with homework, leading enrichment and recreational activities, and maintaining open communication with families and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
? Supervise and engage students in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. ? Assist students with homework, reading, and other academic tasks. ? Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, and enrichment activities. ? Ensure proper arrival and dismissal procedures are followed. ? Support the Extended Day Lead Teacher in planning and implementing activities. ? Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space ? Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. ? Monitor student behavior and follow program policies and procedures.
Education Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in Education, Recreation, Child Development, or related field (preferred). ? Teacher Certification (preferred)
Qualifications:
? Experience working with children in an educational, camp, or childcare setting ? Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. ? Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in emergency situations. ? CPR/First Aid Certification ? Must pass background checks and meet required clearances. ? Dependable, flexible, and able to work collaboratively with a team
