Job Description

St. Monica Center is 180 bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation and long term healthcare services. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our residents by providing excellent care and services with skill and compassion. Especially at this time, the Recreational Activities team is focused on providing residents with a variety of quality activities to keep their mind, body and spirit engaged. We have a Per Diem Therapeutic Recreation Aide opportunity for someone with the experience in planning, organizing and leading activity programs for older adults with compassion and patience.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist in planning recreational activities based on the needs and interests of the residents. Encouraging social communication through group recreation. Visits non-ambulatory residents and nonparticipants to provide socialization and appropriate recreational services. Documents resident attendance and participation level at programs into PointClickCare; Assists with maintaining department supplies at appropriate inventory levels and in an organized manner. Assists with transporting residents to and from programs. Interacts with residents, their families and visitors to ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality service through recreational activities; listens to and utilizes their feedback to enhance programming. Must be available to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and some early evenings, as facility needs require.
Qualifications include:
Experience in leading group and individual activities within a long term care facility, adult day program or similar environment. Excellent interpersonal and organization skills as well as the focus and work ethic to complete assignments on time, independently and/or as part of the team. Proficiency using PointClickCare or other Healthcare Information system as well as Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint and Publisher. Recreation Therapist Certification is a plus as is experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. #IND123
