Activity Assistant Sunbury, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22604111 Summary Sunbury, PA In-Person Competitive Salary 0 Years Experience Secondary education, no high school diploma (grades 9-12) No Commission 30.00 hours per week / Day, Evening, Weekend Shift / Part-Time Description Nursing and Rehabilitation at the Mansion is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing facility in Sunbury, PA. The Activities Assistant conducts activities for residents under the direction of the Director of Activities. Part-time (approx 30 hours per pay period), and would need to be available to work flexible hours, occasional evenings, every other weekend, and every other holiday. This position could lead to a full-time opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents are met and maintained on an individual basis. Assist residents with daily living activities such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote. Keep records of residents' progress and activity attendance. Help with mail delivery, escorting residents to programs, plant/pet care, preparing the monthly newsletter, fundraising efforts, and making morning announcements over the P.A. system. Carry out a variety of activities to provide entertainment, communication, exercise, and opportunities for creative expression. Distribute craft supplies and supervise craft activities. Encourage residents to engage in creative tasks like crafts and painting.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous long-term care or experience working with the elderly or disabled is desirable.
