Position Purpose Prepares, maintains, monitors and repairs the indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, fields and equipment, including the setup for a variety of athletic events or special events which will include making minor nonstructural, unskilled carpentry, electrical, touchup paint, and mechanical repairs on athletic equipment, program areas and supplies. All fields and programs must be set up in accordance to the rules and regulations of the specific sport including any NCAA requirements. Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Three to five years of relevant experience
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, equipment, some power tools and shifttype vehicles
Valid Driver's License
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Must have basic mathematical skills
Ability to perform strenuous physical activities in all kinds of weather
Willingness to work overtime and/or nights and weekends.
Must be able to communicate with and understand the need for solid public relations with a diverse community, including administrators, coaches, faculty, vendors, visitors, the general public, etc. Working Conditions
Work requires bending, kneeling, climbing and working in cramped or awkward positions.
Work involves regular lifting, carrying and holding objects weighing from 25 to 150 lbs.
Work is performed: indoors, outdoors, in bad weather and in areas that are noisy, dirty or dusty.
Work involves exposure to hazards from electrical shock, burns, cuts and exhaust fumes.
Work involves wearing special or protective clothing such as: gloves, goggles or masks and ear plugs. Must have successfully completed the following training prior to performing work to which the training relates as required by EHS. These include but not limited to:
Safety (EHS training)
Laboratory safety/Hazardous Waste Mgmt. training
Asbestos Awareness Training
Fall Protection
Bloodborne Pathogen Training for NonResearch Employees.
