Position Purpose Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate AD for Recreation, this position manages and is responsible for the operations and personnel of the fitness programs and amenities memberships offered by the Athletics Department and Recreation. Description Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate AD for Recreation this position manages and is responsible for the operations of Lewinstein Athletic Center Gym Membership Programs, The Zimmerman Fitness Center and Boss Tennis Center. Also, and in collaboration with the Director of Recreation and Wellness Education Operations, this position manages the Lewinstein Athletics Center fitness class and personal training programs. This position will supervise one fulltime position and more than 50 parttime employees in the Zimmerman Fitness Center, and the Boss Tennis Center. Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 35 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities 3 years of experience in a related field.
Nationally Accredited Certification in personal training and/or fitness classes (ACE, NASM, NSCA, other) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
First Aid, CPR, AED certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
Ability to manage logistical and administrative details of multiple tasks or projects.
Ability to plan work, set priorities, and respond to pressures, deadlines, and changes in schedules and priorities.
Demonstrates proficiency in business and management computer applications
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively, independently, and as a member of a team.
Ability to work with confidential information with discretion. Preferred Qualifications Fitness Facility Management Experience.
Previous leadership of a fitness industry program or facility.
