Job Description

New Jersey-based candidates only. Candidates without direct NJ public sector parks or environmental compliance experience will not be considered. Our firm is a NJ-based NJSBE, WBENC, WOSB, and MBE-certified women and minority-owned financial consulting firm. We are building our project team for an upcoming public sector consulting engagement with a New Jersey county government agency. This is a planned hire contingent upon contract award, anticipated July 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly with next steps. What you will do Review all proposed fee recommendations for compliance with applicable NJ state program rules, grant restrictions, and regulatory requirements governing county park agencies Verify cost allocation methodology aligns with NJ municipal finance law and NJ county parks statutes Provide legally defensible language for inclusion in a formal Cost Recovery Policy document Conduct a full compliance review of the final report prior to board submission Advise on fee categories requiring special statutory treatment, state program approval, or board resolution under NJ law Attend and provide compliance support at a county government board presentation in northern NJ Required qualifications New Jersey residency — must be NJ-based and available for in-person meetings in northern NJ Minimum 5 years working within or directly supporting NJ county government, NJ municipal government, NJ public parks administration, or a NJ public agency in a compliance or regulatory capacity Working knowledge of NJ state program rules and regulatory requirements as they apply to county park agency operations, fee-setting, and revenue generation Familiarity with NJ county parks statutes and NJ municipal finance law governing county park commission authority and operations Experience reviewing public agency policies, programs, or fee structures for statutory and regulatory compliance Understanding of how NJ county agencies structure, approve, and publish fee schedules under NJ law Experience providing compliance guidance on publicly funded land, open space programs, or grant-encumbered park properties Please only apply if you meet all required qualifications above.
