Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School is seeking a motivated and responsible Part-Time Summer Camp Lead Counselor to oversee daily camp operations and support a team of counselors. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with children, demonstrates strong leadership skills, and is committed to fostering a safe, fun, and faith-filled environment consistent with Catholic values. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support camp counselors, providing guidance and direction throughout the day Assist in planning, organizing, and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities (games, crafts, outdoor play, etc.) Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of all campers at all times Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day camp operations in coordination with school leadership Help manage schedules, transitions, and overall camp flow Address behavioral or safety concerns promptly and appropriately Foster a positive, inclusive, and faith-centered environment Communicate effectively with staff, parents (as needed), and administration Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintaining organized camp spaces Qualifications High school diploma required; some college coursework in education, childcare, or a related field preferred Prior experience working in a camp, school, or childcare setting required Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead by example with professionalism, patience, and enthusiasm Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education Physical Requirements Ability to lead and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities Ability to stand, walk, and supervise children for extended periods The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
