FUNCTIONS
  • The Sports Complex Coordinator will support the Sports Complex Director in managing and coordinating all activities related to the June Rockwell Levy Rink & Gledhill Athletic Field and associated buildings and structures, including personnel oversight and facilities management.
  • This position is a 40 hour work week with flexible hours, requiring weekend and evening work as assigned.
  • This position involves assisting with the business, technical, and functional aspects of the Sports Complex operations, as well as supervising and instructing part-time staff and volunteers in the proper operation and maintenance of ice-making and field maintenance equipment and services.
  • Assist the Director in maintaining schedules and records of all operations including use, repair and maintenance, personnel, and financial transactions.
  • Hire and oversee vendors and subcontractors as required.
  • Collect and deposit receivable (monies) for the complex (rink & field).
  • Prepare and process invoices in a timely and accurate manner using the Town financial software system and other applicable software.
  • Order, store, and manage inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies as requested.
  • Plan and implement activities to increase revenues and fund raise e.g., promotional projects, advertising, arranging private parties, etc.
  • Assist in construction, renovation, and equipment maintenance or purchases.
  • Supervise the cleanliness and security of the field, rink, equipment, mechanical areas, and field accessories.
  • Evaluate and monitor building and field equipment and maintenance needs and make recommendations to the Director.
  • Work cooperatively with the Director on facilities management including demolition, construction, and maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor safety and security. Coordinate with local public safety agencies and officials as needed.
  • Book ice and field rentals and other activities as assigned.
  • Provide patron services such as skate sharpening, first aid, and crowd control for events.
  • Assume full responsibility for the rink, store, field and associated buildings and structures in the absence of the Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A certified high school diploma, or GED equivalent, or coursework and related training or equivalent experience in maintaining physical and recreational facilities.
  • Knowledge of the business and technical aspects of ice rink and athletic field operations.
  • Experience with the construction and maintenance of commercial/industrial equipment and/or related business experience.
  • Effectively interface with employees, supervisors, committees, and the general public.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work flexible hours as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and tactfully with Town officials, employees and the general public. Act independently and exercise discretion. Use a computer or other data processing equipment and applicable software. Prepare and present organized and legible written reports, maintain an efficient and secure records management system, including electronic filing of records. Prepare correspondence and reports as required or assigned. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Sports Complex Director. Use Town-wide financial data processing and contemporary software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Operate and sit in a vehicle for extended periods of time and to travel outside of the town and state.
  • Carry tools or other equipment required to perform the job.

SALARY RANGE
Salary range will be determined by the Town Manager consistent with the Town's Classification Plan, Personnel Rules and appropriated amounts.
