Full Job Description Activities Assistant Part-Time Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team at AdviniaCare Waterview Villa in East Providence, RI. As an Activities Assistant, you will assist in planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Therapeutic Recreation Department, ensuring that our residents receive a comprehensive program of activities that cater to their interests and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and provision of patient care by visiting residents regularly to evaluate their needs Document and report to the nursing department any unusual or significant findings Report all reportable events immediately in accordance with our policy Encourage residents to participate in activities of daily living that stimulate their physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being Spend duty time with residents rather than with other facility staff Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team
Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent Preferably, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must be at least 18 years old Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Knowledgeable in the Privacy Rule and ensuring all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures Patient, tactful, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm Ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing policies and procedures Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition Willingness to participate in continuing education and inservice training
