Camp Tahuaya - a Family Adventure Campground is currently seeking candidates for Activities Staff. Are you passionate about the great outdoors and eager to inspire others? As part of the Activities Staff, you'll dive into a role that's all about sharing your love for adventure with Camp Tahuaya guests. At Camp Tahuaya, we're all about building self-esteem, ethical decision-making, leadership, and community spirit through outdoor activities. If you're ready to make a real impact and encourage others to embrace the adventure of nature, we want you on our team! This is mostly a weekend position that includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Schedules will vary based events and activities offered each week/weekend. Some weekday shifts may be available on demand. The Activities Staff position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with people, and creating unforgettable experiences through adventure, recreation, and outdoor education.
Compensation:
$13.00 per hour-Up to 28 hrs. per week
Key Responsibilities:

Schedule Expectations:
Primarily available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Ability to work flexible schedules based on camp events, reservations, and activity offerings. Additional weekday shifts may be available based on camp needs -
Camp Support:
Assist with event setup, cleanup, and general camp readiness. Help maintain activity equipment, supplies, and storage areas. Ensure activity areas remain clean, organized, and presentable. Support other camp departments as needed during events and high-volume weekends. -
Safety:
Hold groups accountable to agency standards and safety rules of the campground. Assist in preparing the buildings and accommodations for rentals, including light cleaning when needed. Adhere to all Guide to Safe Scouting standards for safety and quality. Knowledge of safety practices as applicable. -
Programs:
Assist in the development of new and innovative camp program curriculum. Incorporate opportunities for teaching courage, confidence, and character during daily interaction with campers and staff. Assist with group special events activities as part of the camp's schedule of events. Prepare program supplies, set up activity areas, and provide programming assistance. Carry out other non-essential duties as delegated by camp management staff including assisting Housekeeping staff, assisting in the kitchen, and assisting with camp programs or events. Willingness to earn required certifications. •
Position Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Prior experience serving in a non-profit youth setting including, but not limited to, the areas of recreation, education, or other social science preferred. Must have a basic knowledge of camp activities/programs and manage groups, including customer service and conflict management. Must be a hard worker that is friendly, detail oriented, accurate, self-motivated, and willing to work in a team environment. Flexible and committed to personal and professional development. Good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents. Be able to act calmly, quickly, and give and/or follow directions during an emergency. Dedicated to delivering exceptional outdoor programs.
Essential Requirements:
Become a registered member of Scouting America, which includes a Criminal Background check and required training. Hold the minimum certification requirements of CPR and First Aid. (Provided during training) Willingness to work a flexible schedule & crossed trained if needed.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands:
Activities occur both inside and outside. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently To apply , qualified candidates must complete an application and be present for an on-site interview.
