BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for guest's first and last impressions of Cleburne's Senior Center experience. This individual is responsible for making sure the facility activities run smoothly and addressing any issues that may arise and dealing with guest needs. Responsible for opening/ closing procedures, facility bookings for the Senior Center facilities of the City of Cleburne. This is a non-supervisory position that may involve some independent judgment. Duties include performing clerical work requiring application of various complex work methods and procedures, in accordance with the laws and regulations controlling the employing department, and with departmental functions, policies, and practices.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of fitness and exercise equipment
  • Knowledge of the physical layout of the Recreation Center
  • Knowledge of all rules and City Ordinances
  • Ability to work with a variety of guest by completing various tasks
  • Ability to understand and carry-out oral and written instructions and ask for clarification when needed
  • Ability to establish and maintain files and records
  • Ability to solve guest service items through verbal and written communication, while seeking assistance when needed.
  • Must display initiative and diligence in work performance
  • Must be an independent, self-starter and be able to listen to citizen complaints and concerns
  • Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and deal properly with sensitive documents and information
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Preferred First Aid and CPR with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification A Valid Class C Texas driver license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS
Primarily in an indoor environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment including multi-line telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, shredder, scanner, printer, etc.
