Our mission is to enrich the lives of our residents through meaningful connection, engaging activities, and supportive care—including our specialized Memory Care unit. Job Summary Westpark Rehabilitation & Living is seeking a full‑time Activities Assistant to help deliver fun, engaging, and therapeutic activities for residents across the facility—including those in our Alzheimer's, dementia, and Memory Care unit. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with seniors, has patience and creativity, and finds joy in making someone's day brighter. Responsibilities As an Activities Assistant, you will: Assist in planning and leading group and one‑on‑one activities for residents of all cognitive levels, including Memory Care. Engage residents with dementia using redirection, validation, gentle communication, and person‑centered interaction techniques. Encourage resident participation and provide hands‑on assistance as needed. Visit residents individually to offer companionship, sensory engagement, and emotional support. Prepare and organize activity materials, supplies, and equipment. Escort or transport residents to and from activities and facility events. Document resident participation, behaviors, and responses to activities. Participate in assessments, care plan development, and activity program planning. Support holiday events, special programs, and community outings. Complete other tasks assigned by the Activity Director. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. No experience necessary—training provided! Compassionate, patient, and energetic personality. Comfortable interacting with seniors experiencing Alzheimer's and dementia (training available). Ability to communicate effectively in English. Ability to work some weekends or holidays as needed. Work Environment Hands‑on, resident‑centered care setting. Frequent movement throughout the facility. Some exposure to disinfectants, odors, and varied behaviors. Must be able to assist residents during activities and in emergencies if necessary.
