JOB SUMMARY
The Club Racquet Professional is responsible for the daily operation of the Racquet Sports Plaza activities which includes indoor and outdoor tennis, pickleball, paddle ball and the Courtside Pro Shop. This fast-paced department will greet all members and guest and assist with their racquet sports needs including daily operations, food, beverage and retail duties. Must be proficient with verbal and written communications, answering the phone, scheduling court reservations, lessons, clinics and mixers. The Racquet Sports Associate is responsible for the administrative support of day-to- day operations for the Racquets staff including filing, taking messages, cleaning, organizing, and other office duties. Must be over 18 years of age and have current TABC certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide private and group instruction in tennis, pickleball, and/or paddle Create customized training plans for juniors, adults, and competitive players Run clinics, camps, and cardio sessions for all skill levels Conduct racquet evaluations and advise on equipment Design and deliver creative programs that boost engagement and retention Assist with planning and executing tournaments, social mixers, and league play Track participation, gather feedback, and adjust offerings accordingly Build strong relationships with members and guests Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional presence on and off court Promote a fun and inclusive atmosphere for players of all backgrounds Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
High school education, GED, or equivalent experience. Strong playing and teaching background in tennis, pickleball, or paddle (multi-sport a plus) Certification from USPTA, PTR, PPR, or similar governing body preferred Proven experience coaching players of all levels and ages Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills High-energy, professional, and team-oriented mindset Computer experience, Word, Excel, Internet Customer service experience in a high-volume setting Hours required: Scheduled days and hours vary based on departmental needs.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to meet the following minimum physical requirements for at least an eight-hour shift:
Physical Stamina:
Frequent standing, walking, climbing of ladders and stairs, kneeling, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying various objects weighing up to 30 lbs. On occasion push a 50 lb. dolly. Work indoors in a temperature-controlled environment most of the time and sometimes work outdoors in extreme temperatures. Hearing /
Speech :
Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers.
Vision:
Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
Literacy:
Must be able to produce, read and understand reports, including security, incident and police reports. Must be able to analyze and process written information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate content of reports.
Chemicals/Agents:
Must be able to work safely with chemicals according to SDS sheets and all applicable laws, codes and regulatory requirements. Share job details to
